Richard Sturm, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Glaucoma Specialist and Long Island Cataract Surgeon and at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, a multispeciality Ophthalmology practice conveniently serving Long Island eye care patients at their office location in Lynbrook at 360 Merrick Road. Dr. Sturm received his Medical Degree from New York Medical College and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. Prior to joining OCLI and treating Cataracts on Long Island, Dr. Sturm completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma and at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sturm served as Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Glaucoma Service at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center.
Dr. Sturm provides his patients with advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery on Long Island that require only a very tiny incision, no patches and only eye drops for anesthesia-the “no stitch, no patch, no needle” Cataract Surgery procedure-so that his patients can benefit from very quick visual recovery times with minimal interruption in their daily routines.
