Jeffrey Martin, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon on Long Island at North Shore Eye Care in Smithtown. Dr. Martin performs Cataract Surgery on Long Island for Cataract patients from throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties. Dr. Martin is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook School of Medicine. He also teaches techniques of Cataract Surgery and Intraocular Lens Implantation (IOL) to Ophthalmology residents at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Jeffrey Martin received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Medicine followed by an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He then completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at Nassau County University Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident.

As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and well known Long Island Cataract Surgeon, Dr. Martin provides his Nassau and Suffolk Cataract patients with the most advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery on Long Island that require only a very tiny incision, no patches and only eye drops for anesthesia-the “no stitch, no patch, no needle” Cataract Surgery procedure-so that his patients can benefit from very quick visual recovery times with minimal interruption in their daily routines.

In addition, Dr. Martin is dedicated to helping Cataract patients achieve their personal vision correction goals after Cataract Surgery. Dr. Martin routinely recommends aspheric lens implants for those Cataract patients requiring the sharpest distance vision in dim lighting conditions and astigmatism correcting toric lens implants for those Cataract patients with significant amounts of astigmatism. To help his patients achieve greater independence and possibly eliminate the need for eyeglasses, reading glasses or bifocals after Cataract Surgery, he recommends near vision presbyopia correcting lens implants, such as the Crystalens® Accommodating Lens Implant (IOL), the AcrySof® ReSTOR® Lens Implant (IOL), the Tecnis® Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL) and the ReZoom™ Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL).

Dr. Martin is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Suffolk County Medical Society and the New York State Ophthalmological Society. He is an attending Ophthalmologist at St. Catherine's of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown New York.
