Lisa Martén, M.D. is a Cornea and Cataract Surgeon in San Antonio at South Texas Eye Institute in San Antonio where she serves Texas Cataract patients from throughout greater San Antonio, McAllen, Corpus Christi, and Laredo as well as throughout the State of Texas. Dr. Martén received her Medical Degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Following her residency, Dr. Martén attended a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Martén utilizes advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery in San Antonio that require only a very tiny incision so that her patients can benefit from very quick visual recovery times with minimal interruption in their daily routines.
Dr. Martén is committed to helping patients with Cataracts achieve their vision correction goals after Cataract Surgery. To help her Cataract patients achieve greater independence and possibly eliminate the need for eyeglasses, reading glasses or bifocals after Cataract Surgery, Dr. Martén routinely recommends aspheric lens implants for those Cataract patients requiring the sharpest distance vision in dim lighting conditions, astigmatism correcting toric lens implants for those Cataract patients with significant amounts of astigmatism and near vision presbyopia correcting lens implants, such as the AcrySof® ReSTOR® Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL), the Tecnis™ Multifocal Lens Implant (IOL) and the Crystalens® Accommodating Lens Implant for those Cataract patients wishing to have their distance, arm's length and near vision corrected after Cataract Surgery without eyeglasses.
In addition to her work as a Cataract Surgeon in San Antonio, Dr. Martén is a Cornea Specialist who performs Intralase™ Enabled Keratoplasty (IEK) for Cornea Transplants and Decemets Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSEK) for removing diseased tissue from the Cornea as well as Intacs® Corneal Ring Segments for the treatment of Keratoconus.
