Jeffrey D. Horn, M.D. is a Refractive and Cataract Surgeon in Nashville Tennessee. He is the Medical Director and Founder of Vision for Life where he performs Cataract Surgery in Nashville for Cataract patients from throughout Tennessee at Baptist Plaza Surgicare in Nashville. Dr. Horn received his Medical Degree from the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse with Honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at Northwestern University followed by a Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the University of California-San Diego.

Dr. Horn has served as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville where he was elected as the “Outstanding Surgical Instructor”. He currently serves on the medical and surgical staff of Baptist Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

He is a member of the Nashville Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Eye Bank Association of America. In addition he has served as a member of the Board of Directors and Medical Director of the Lions Eye Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Dr. Horn plays an important role in furthering eye surgery publications, clinical research in Cataract Surgery and Lens Implants and the clinical education of eye physicians and surgeons throughout the world. In this role he has been a consultant and clinical investigator for the development of a near vision multifocal lens implant for vision correction after Cataract Surgery as well as many other types of advanced technology Lens Implants for Cataract Surgery. He serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology to help certify new Ophthalmologists and regularly publishes articles and book chapters, presents papers and directs courses on techniques of Cataract Surgery, correction of astigmatism with toric lens implants and correction of near vision and presbyopia after Cataract Surgery. Finally, he serves as an Editorial Board Member for Comprehensive Ophthalmology Update and is a Reviewer for the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
