Brian DeBroff, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Cataract Surgeon in Bridgeport Connecticut at Eye Surgery Associates, L.L.C. with offices in Stratford and New Haven, Connecticut. He performs cataract surgery for cataract patients from throughout Connecticut at Constitution Eye Surgery Center South in Milford, the Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport and the Yale-New Haven Medical Center in New Haven. Dr. DeBroff received his Medical Degree at the Tufts University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received the Sandoz Award for academic excellence. This was followed by a Residency in Ophthalmology at the Eye and Ear Institute of the University of Pittsburgh. In addition Dr. DeBroff completed a Fellowship in Anterior Segment Eye Surgery at The Gimbel Eye Centre. Dr. DeBroff has played an active role in the Yale School of Medicine Ophthalmology Residency Program since 1994 and continues his dedication to the education of eye physicians and surgeons through his appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven Connecticut where he teaches advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery & Lens Implantation to new eye surgeons in Connecticut. He was presented with the Resident Teaching Award in 1998 2008 and and has served the Yale Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science as its Residency Program Director and Vice Chairman as well as its Director of Cataract Surgery and IOL Lens Implant Surgery from 1999 through 2006. In addition within the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Connecticut Healthcare System-West Haven Veterans Hospital, he serves as the Chief of Ophthalmic Surgical Services.

Dr. DeBroff provides his patients with advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery in Connecticut that require only a very tiny incision, no patches and only eye drops for anesthesia-the "no stitch, no patch, no needle" Cataract Surgery procedure-so that his patients can benefit from very quick visual recovery times with minimal interruption in their daily routines.

Dr. DeBroff is certified by and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, is Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. DeBroff has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Distinguished Service Award for Editorial Review and Contributions to Techniques in Ophthalmology, recognition by Who's Who in Ophthalmology and being honored for as one of America's Top Ophthalmologists for Cataract Surgery by Consumer's Research Council of America.

He has more than 50 publications on topics in eye surgery including a book on the Cataract Surgery technique called "phacoemulsification" as well as seven book chapters. Dr. DeBroff has lectured nationally and internationally on Cataracts, Cataract Surgery and Lens Implants and has special clinical and research interest in congenital cataracts, pediatric developmental cataracts, traumatic cataracts and near vision presbyopia correcting multifocal IOL Lens Implants.
