She has published over 20 scientific papers on clinically relevant topics in laser vision correction, cataract surgery and other topics in ophthalmology. She has presented her research nationally and internationally.
Dr. Bluestein is a resident of Charleston and Sullivan's Island where she is active in community activities. She is on the board of directors of the Association for the Blind. She was instrumental in establishing an outreach program for eye care called "See for MILES" through our Lady of Mercy on Johns Island, South Carolina. She is an active supporter of the College of Charleston Cougar Club and enjoys painting in abstract oil.
