Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Duke University Eye Center and Wills Eye Hospital are all routinely recognized as being in the top 5 of the 135 Ophthalmology training programs in North America. In 1992, Dr. Altman co-founded Wills Eye Hospital's Refractive Surgery service, and helped to popularize modern "Refractive Cataract Surgery" in the Philadelphia area. Dr. Altman joined Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania (formerly known as West Reading Ophthalmic Associates) in 1995. He has successfully performed over 9000 Cataract Surgery procedures.
Dr. Altman utilizes advanced techniques of Cataract Surgery that require only a very tiny incision, no patches and only eye drops for anesthesia-the "no stitch, no patch, no needle" Cataract Surgery procedure-so that his patients can benefit from very quick visual recovery times with minimal interruption in their daily routines.
